Experimental

Nuclear and Hadron Physics Research

Our group provides a highly dynamic experimental enviroment, working at laboratories large and small and collaborating with groups throughout the world. Students will have the opportunity to work on small scale experiments where they will have responsibility for overseeing the full lifecycle; within a large international collaborations at the Jefferson Laboratory in the USA; or at all levels inbetween at a range of other labs. Typcially students will have full responsibility for a particular aspect of the experiment detector, simulation or software related tasks and be able to choose from a large variety of physics analysis topics across our research themes. Individual projects may be weighted more towrds software or detector/electronics development depending on the preferences of the student.
