Modern experiments in hadronic physics challenge available detector technology. Progress in understanding the properties of hadrons and nuclei requires the development of new, intricate detector systems to identify all reaction products and to measure their four-momentum vector. Our group has world-renowned expertise in the design and construction of modern detector systems, most notably with excellent timing resolution and for operation in challenging environments. Many of these systems were developed as part of a PhD project within the group. Our expertise in the design, construction and operation in detector systems makes us a well sought after partner for collaborating with various industrial partners in the development of bespoke detector solutions for applications ranging from the classification of nuclear waste (with NNL and NDA), nuclear threat reduction (with AWE) or medical applications.
